One Month to Go!

27 September 2024 |

With just under a month to go until the Welsh Museums Festival 2024, it’s time to start planning your family day out! This half-term museums across Wales will host a jam-packed week of free and fun activities for all ages.

Fightful fun at the Welsh Museums Festival

Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a fan of spooky Halloween traditions, or simply looking for a memorable half-term experience, this festival has something for everyone. With the countdown ticking, now’s the perfect time to check out the festival website and map out your very own Wales History Trail!

Highlights include the Wales History Trails Passport Challenge, where young visitors can visit just one participating museum during half-term to win a prize, such as a den-making kit, or six museums until the end of March 2025 to win a brand-new scooter!

A range of interactive and family-friendly events will also take place, including Halloween-themed trails, art workshops, storytelling, historical re-enactments, and cultural celebrations. Many museums will offer a free Halloween booklet to take home, including Welsh tales and traditions, such as the Cropped Black Sow and turnip lanterns.
